HMAT Exam will be based on Multiple Choice Question Based (MCQs). Total No. of Question paper will be One(1). The Written exam contains two parts. First Part of 100 questions and Second Part of also 100 questions. Total time: 180 minutes (3 hours). This Exam has No negative markings. HMAT Exam medium will be Gujarati.

The State Examination Board, Gandhinagar has been authorized to conduct the Principal Aptitude Test required to obtain the necessary qualifications for appointment as Principal in registered private (Grant-in-Ed) Secondary and Higher Secondary Schools. Head Masters Aptitude Test (HMAT)-2021 to be conducted by the State Examination Board, Gujarat State, Gandhinagar for the prescribed qualifications for appointment as Principals in registered private (Grant-in-Ed) Secondary and Higher Secondary Schools. Notification is hereby issued. The said test/examination will be conducted through the District Education Officers at designated centers under the management of the State Examination Board.
HMAT Exam 2022 Educational Qualification and Experience Details:
Only candidates who fulfill the educational qualification, experience and other conditions/conditions prescribed and amended from time to time for appointment as principals in registered private (Grant-in-Ed) Secondary and Higher Secondary Schools can appear in this test.
- B.Ed with Post Graduation in any subject taught in a secondary/higher secondary school or M.Ed in any subject taught in a secondary/higher secondary school. or possessing its equivalent degree as declared by the State Government and having a total of at least 7 (seven) years teaching/supervision experience after regular appointment in a registered Grant-in-Aid/Government Secondary/Higher Secondary School.

- A person with B.Ed. or possessing its equivalent degree as declared by the State Government and having at least 10 (ten) years total teaching/supervision experience after regular appointment in a registered Grant-in-Aid/Government Secondary/Higher Secondary School.
